Radon Mitigation

Contact BNF Consulting to determine your radon level. One in fifteen homes in the US has radon levels above 4 pCi/L, the EPA action level.

In case your homes radon level is about 4pCi/L, BNF Consulting can install a Radon Mitigation System at your home. The benefit of having a radon mitigation system in your home is its ability to reduce the risk of developing lung cancer. The radon mitigation system is effective within 24 hours of its installation. The system keeps radon levels low as its fan operates.  Another potential benefit of this system is the reduction of the infiltration of moist soil air with the radon, which may reduce the humidity level in the basement of the home. We cover Westchester County and surrounding areas including White Plains, Scarsdale, New Rochelle, Katonah, Bedford, Pleasantville, Ardsley, Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, and Port Chester.

What is Radon?

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas. You cannot see it, smell it, or taste it, but it is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. According to the National Academy of Sciences, of the 160,000 lung cancer deaths annually in the United States, about 12% are due to radon exposure. Radon is produced by the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water. High levels of radon have been found in every state in the US.
